Rebooting a popular franchise is nothing new. Companies have been doing it since the dawn of time. All you have to do is take something people already love — like FLCL or Thundercats — and do it again. It’s easy to do, and it’s a surefire way to make money. Fans love it.
But sometimes doing a reboot doesn’t make sense. Maybe the original wasn’t popular enough to merit a reboot. Or maybe knowing the twist-ending already would make the reboot less enjoyable.
Or maybe there’s another reason.
Megalobox is a show about punching people in the face with robot arms. It’s a reboot of Ashita no Joe, and its still currently airing. Doing a second reboot so soon would just confuse people.
4. My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia is a fresh take on the American superhero formula with an anime twist. It’s a must-watch show if you’re a fan of the shone fighting genre. It’s also not done, so rebooting it would be ridiculous.
3. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a highly popular reboot of Fullmetal Alchemist. Many people consider it to be better than the original series. Rebooting it again would be silly.
2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season Two
I only watched the first season of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. And I watched it in chronological order because I’m a masochist. The second season is mostly comprised of the same episode, and that made people very upset. Doing that again would be a bad business decision.
Reboot isn’t an anime. And it’s already been rebooted. I’m not sure why it’s on this list.
