Inuyasha voice actor Kirby Morrow passes away at 47

It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news that Canadian voice actor Kirby Morrow passed away November 18, 2020 at the age of 47. His death was confirmed with TheWrap, by his brother, Casey.

His statement reads:

“My Mom and my family wanted to let you all know that Kirby passed away yesterday. We do not have any details as of yet. Kirby was a blessed and talented individual who brought joy to so many but also thrived off all your love and friendship. He lived for it and it fueled him every day.”

Tragically, their father, Tom, lost his battle to cancer a week earlier. Casey said that it was “just like Kirby to try and steal the spotlight from his dad.”

Morrow is best known for his role as the lecherous monk Miroku in Inuyasha, which he reprised for the spinoff series Yashahime: Half-Demon Princess. He also played Goku in the Ocean Group dub of Dragon Ball Z. Stargate fans know Morrow for playing Captain Dave Kleinman, a reoccurring character in Stargate: Atlantis and Stargate Universe.

A virtual memorial is currently in the planning stages, but a date has not been announced.
